Privacy Policy

Your trust matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect on Al-Muslim, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: May 24, 2026

Al-Muslim (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website available at our official domain (including namaztimes.al-muslims.com and related subdomains). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you browse prayer times, use the Hijri calendar, view Ramadan schedules, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways when you use our website:

  • Usage and analytics data — pages visited, approximate location (country/city from URL or settings), device type, browser, and referral source, collected via Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) in production.
  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number, subject, and message content when you submit our Contact form.
  • Newsletter email — if you subscribe on the home page, we collect the email address you provide.
  • Prayer location preferences — city, country, calculation method, madhab, time format, and related settings you choose in the prayer times settings drawer (stored in the page URL and used to fetch timetable data).
  • Technical logs — standard server and CDN logs (IP address, request time, user agent) may be processed by our hosting infrastructure for security and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide accurate prayer times, Hijri calendar views, and Ramadan timetables for your selected location.
  • Respond to contact enquiries and support requests.
  • Send newsletter updates if you have subscribed (you may unsubscribe at any time).
  • Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve content, performance, and features.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable law.

3. Prayer Times & Location Data

When you search for a city or open a prayer times page, we send your selected city, country, and calculation settings to our prayer times API to return timetable data. We do not require you to create an account.

If you share precise coordinates through a supported browser or device feature, they may be used only to suggest the nearest supported city. We do not sell your location data.

4. Analytics & Cookies

We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to measure traffic and page views. This service may set cookies or similar technologies and process pseudonymous identifiers. Analytics runs in production; local development tracking is disabled unless explicitly enabled for debugging.

You can limit analytics by using browser cookie controls, ad/analytics opt-out extensions, or Google’s analytics opt-out tools. Essential cookies required for the site to function may still be used.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only with:

  • Service providers — hosting, analytics (Google Firebase), and email delivery partners that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
  • Prayer times API infrastructure — to calculate and deliver timetable data for your requested location (city/country and calculation parameters only).
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Al-Muslim, our users, or the public.

6. Data Retention

Contact form submissions and support correspondence are retained only as long as needed to respond and maintain reasonable business records.

Analytics data is retained according to Google Firebase / Analytics default retention settings configured for our property.

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or we remove inactive records.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children’s Privacy

Al-Muslim is a general audience Islamic resource. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use strong passwords on your devices and avoid sharing sensitive personal data in public contact messages.

10. International Users

Our website is accessible worldwide. If you access Al-Muslim from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using the site, you acknowledge such transfers may occur subject to appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
